SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- San Jose Fire Department responded to the scene of a plane crash that injured three people in the area of Capitol Expressway and Excalibur Drive Saturday afternoon.
The crash was reported just after 3 p.m. when a small propeller plane crashed on the roadway near Reid Hillview Airport.
Two adults and one child were onboard the plane and were transferred to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the fire department.
Fire officials say no one on the ground was hurt, and no vehicles were involved in the crash.
However, the crash caused a minor fuel spill that SJFD said was absorbed.
The plane is a 1968 Cessna 177A Cardinal and is registered to Flying Twenty Inc., a nonprofit flight club for San Jose State University students, alumni and faculty, Federal Aviation Administration records show.
The cause of the crash is still unclear.
