Father shuttles between 2 hospitals as wife and baby face harrowing diagnoses
OKLAHOMA CITY -- Miracles happen every day in hospitals, and one Oklahoma family is praying for theirs.
A terminally ill mother contacted KOCO, saying she and her baby are fighting for their lives. Her husband is doing everything he can to help his family.
Cameron Odum makes the walk back and forth between OU Medical Center and Oklahoma Children's Hospital five to eight times a day. His wife, Robbinjo, is terminally ill with necrotizing pancreatitis, and his daughter, HazelJo, was born with bladder exstrophy.
The Odums describe themselves as the perfect little family. Robbinjo's unexpected diagnosis forced her to be flown to OU Health for care.
"Hospice ended up taking her to the doctor and everything, finding out she was 27 weeks pregnant. After that, they ended up transporting her up here to the Children's medical city," Cameron said.
Two weeks later, HazelJo was born with a rare condition affecting multiple organs.
For the last month, Cameron has been making the walk from one hospital to the other, checking on his wife and baby.

Now, HazelJo is being transferred to Bethany Children's Hospital for a series of surgeries. Robbinjo is staying at OU Health.
"Her stay here is going to be longer until GIs can actually figure out what's going on with her," Cameron said.
Cameron said the family's reality has left him struggling as he tries to be there for his wife and child.
"Me, myself, I'm struggling through the mentalness of it," he said. "I can't work. I can't do anything. As a man, it's belittling. It really, truthfully is. You're supposed to sit here and take care of your family."
He is now asking the community for prayers during this time. A GoFundMe has also been created to help the family.
He said his wife and daughter got the opportunity to see each other earlier Monday before HazelJo is transferred.
