Brentwood's Liberty High School community is mourning after a weekend car crash left two teenagers dead and a third seriously injured.

BRENTWOOD, Calif. (KGO) -- An East Bay school community is mourning after a weekend car crash left two teenagers dead and a third seriously injured.

On Thursday night, hundreds of friends, classmates, and family members gathered at Liberty High School in Brentwood for a candlelight vigil to honor the victims, identified as Caden Kyle and Dominic Starkenberg-Ferrari.

Attendees leaned on one another for support as they remembered the two young lives lost.

Two Liberty High School students were killed, and a third was injured when two vehicles collided in Antioch. A fourth person was also hurt.

"He had a great smile," said Matthew Gallegos, a friend of Starkenberg-Ferrari. "I loved Dominic's smile... it always brought me joy to look at his face. He was always a happy guy, so he's for surely going to be missed. I love you, Dominic."

The driver of the second vehicle involved in the collision also sustained injuries.

The cause of the tragic crash remains under active investigation by authorities.
