'Dancing with the Stars,' 'Abbott Elementary,' '9-1-1:' When your favorite ABC shows will return
Which shows will premiere in fall and which shows will premiere in the new year?
It may still be summer, but ABC is looking forward to autumn. The network released its fall premiere dates.
"Dancing with the Stars" is back with a two night premiere beginning Tuesday, September 15. Four stars have been announced so far: "Love Island's" Maura Higgins, "Summer House's" Ciara Miller, Jackson Olson from the Savannah Bananas and Guillermo Rodriguez from "Jimmy Kimmel Live!". The entire cast will be revealed September 2 on "Good Morning America."
On The Red Carpet spoke to executive producer and casting director Deena Katz in May where she revealed, "I'm really excited about what I'm putting together this year."
"You don't want to keep doing the same things, so I have to do something different and yet something that the audience is ready to embrace," she continued. "It's gonna be competition on!"
The first night of "DWTS" on September 15 will be followed by the season two premiere of "R.J. Decker."
The second season of "Scrubs" will kick off Wednesday, September 30. That'll be followed by a two-episode premiere of "Shark Tank." Then beginning October 7, the Sharks will move to their regular Wednesday night 10pm timeslot and the Emmy-winning "Abbott Elementary" returns in its timeslot of 8:30pm.
Thursday nights this fall will be just as explosive as ever. "9-1-1," "9-1-1: Nashville" and "Grey's Anatomy" will return on October 15.
"Celebrity Wheel of Fortune" with Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White will spin into the fall season on October 2.
For the newsies, an all-new season of "20/20" premieres September 25.
Sports fans, this is for you. Monday Night Football returns on most Mondays beginning September 14. Joe Buck, Troy Aikman, Lisa Salters and Laura Rutledge will bring you all the action, kicking things off with the Denver Broncos vs the Kansas City Chiefs.
College Football begins Saturday, August 29 with Alabama A&M taking on Howard.
And "Celebrity Jeopardy!," which was previously on the fall schedule, will now return in 2027.
Also returning in the new year: "The Bachelor," "High Potential," "The Rookie," "Shifting Gears" and "Will Trent," as well as the series premieres of "The Rookie: North" and the "Grey's Anatomy" spinoff. More details to come on exact premiere dates.
