Former 'Bachelorette' contestant Zac Clark caught in flood during half marathon

NEW JERSEY -- Runners in a half marathon in Paramus, New Jersey got more than they bargained for Sunday morning when heavy flooding turned parts of the course into a race through waist-deep water.

Video shared by former "Bachelorette" contestant Zac Clark shows runners pushing through floodwaters as they made their way along the route.

Clark says the challenging conditions didn't slow him down too much.

He still managed to finish third in his age group.

Clark was picked by season 16 "Bachelorette" Taysha Adams and they got engaged, although they later broke up. He's currently linked to another past "Bachelorette," Kaitlyn Bristowe, although neither have confirmed an official romance.

Runners in Paramus' Race Faster Half Marathon were caught in floodwaters Sunday as heavy rain submerged roads. Paramus got 4.92 inches of rain, according to the National Weather Service.

"This was supposed to be a half-marathon and it ended up being a biathlon," another runner Garrett Nathan joked. "This is crazy."

The organizers of the race pushed back the start time by two hours due to the severe weather, but not long enough to avoid the flooding on the route.
