'Live with Kelly and Mark' and 'The View' kick off new seasons on ABC

NEW YORK -- ABC celebrated a day of premieres Tuesday with the return of new seasons of "Live with Kelly and Mark" and "The View," including the landmark 30th season of the daytime talk show.

Entertainment reporter Joelle Garguilo visited both productions to speak with cast members and producers about what viewers can expect in the upcoming season.

At "Live with Kelly and Mark," executive producer Michael Gelman teased a busy lineup ahead.

"We've just got a million things going on, big celebrities, big challenge week is coming on. You know, we're celebrating, Kelly and Mark four because this is their fourth season together," Gelman said.

Garguilo also asked about the show's annual Halloween episode, which has frequently featured pop culture-inspired costumes.

"I feel like we've done it enough. At this point, like, can I be Taylor Swift's mom? Like, yeah," Kelly Ripa said.

Later, Ripa and Mark Consuelos took part in a rapid-fire game to answer questions about each other.

Asked about Kelly's perfect day, Consuelos replied, "A coffee."

When asked about Mark's ultimate comfort, Ripa answered, "A peanut butter and jelly."

Consuelos said Kelly's dream dinner guest is Madonna.

Asked what always makes Kelly laugh, both hosts agreed the answer was Mark.

"He does. He he's not gonna say that, but it is true. He makes me laugh," Ripa said.

Garguilo then headed to "The View," which is beginning its 30th season.

Asked what it feels like to make history, Joy Behar replied, "Old. Feels old."

Garguilo also asked the panel what topics can be discussed at the table today that women working in daytime television might not have imagined discussing 30 years ago.

"Well, the thing about Barbara, there was nothing that she couldn't bring up. She made it OK for women to come out and have these conversations," Whoopi Goldberg said.

"We are more relevant today than we have ever been," Sunny Hostin added.

The co-hosts also participated in a lighthearted game about their colleagues. Sara Haines named Goldberg as the person who gives the best advice, while Hostin called it "a tie between Whoopi and Joy."

Hostin and Goldberg each identified themselves as the person most likely to talk their way out of anything.

Alyssa Farah Griffin said she would call Haines first in a crisis, while Haines said attorney and fellow co-host Ana Navarro "is a party in a margarita glass."
