Partner of Utah woman missing in Santa Cruz breaks silence

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KGO) -- The longtime partner of a Utah woman who went missing in Santa Cruz County is speaking for the first time since reporting her missing earlier this month.

Danielle Staley, 35, was last seen November 6 at a beach bonfire in Aptos.

Alx Nunez, 62, says he reported her missing the day after the event.

He is cooperating with investigators and is not considered a suspect.

Nunez decided to go on camera, due to criticism on social media.

He denies any involvement in her disappearance.

"It's open. If they want me to take one," said Alx Nunez. "I offered. I offered to take one. I have no problem with it. It's up to them. Whatever they want to do, they can do it."

"I just want to help try and find her," he added.

Nunez believes Staley may have relapsed into drug use and is with other drug users.

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's office says they have not ruled out foul play.
