5 injured in stabbing at New York City's Penn Station, fire officials say

NEW YORK -- Five people were injured in a stabbing at Penn Station on Sunday evening, the New York City Fire Department said.

It happened shortly after 7 p.m. local time on the NJ Transit concourse.

One person suffered a serious injury, two suffered moderate injuries, and the rest suffered minor injuries. They were taken to Bellevue Hospital.

The suspect, considered emotionally disturbed, was arrested by Amtrak police.

The circumstances surrounding the stabbing are unknown.
