Police investigate shots fired near Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk parking lot; no injuries reported

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KGO) -- Police are investigating after shots were fired near the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk on Monday evening.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire in a nearby parking lot.

No one was injured or hit by the bullets.

The Santa Cruz Police Department confirmed the scene is secure and there is no active threat to the community.

No suspects have been arrested.

The investigation remains ongoing.
