Sources: Warriors to sign Georges Niang, completing roster
The Golden State Warriors are signing veteran power forward Georges Niang to a one-year, $3.9 million contract, league sources told ESPN's Shams Charania on Tuesday, completing the team's 15-man roster entering next season.
Earlier in the day, the Warriors agreed to a one-year minimum contract with reserve guard Brandon Williams. These are the first two external free agent signings of the summer for the otherwise stable Warriors.
Niang missed all of last season after fracturing his left foot in September. Prior to that, he'd shown to be a durable floor spacer, making 39.9% of his career 3s on a high volume while appearing in 72, 76, 78, 82 and 79 games the previous five seasons.

Niang is expected to step into a reserve frontcourt role behind veterans Draymond Green, Kristaps Porzingis and Al Horford and rookie Yaxel Lendeborg. He has history with the franchise, once playing for the G League affiliate Santa Cruz Warriors after joining the Warriors in training camp in 2017.
The next piece of business for the Warriors comes later this weekend. Superstar guard Steph Curry becomes extension eligible on Saturday and the sides are expected to engage with a mutual desire to keep Curry with the Warriors for the entirety of his career, team sources continue to confirm.
