Remains of missing Texas college student found nearly 6 years after disappearance: AG
Jason Landry went missing in 2020, driving home from Texas State University
CALDWELL COUNTY, Texas -- Almost six years after Jason Landry went missing while driving home from Texas State University to Missouri City, Texas, state leaders announced the discovery of his remains.
On Wednesday, Attorney General Ken Paxton's office announced that DNA analysis identified the recent remains found in Caldwell County, Texas.
Authorities said a local resident found the remains on Sept. 8. Paxton's office credited the DNA testing done at the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification (UNTCHI) with confirming the remains as those of Landry.

However, the remains do not provide additional details into the cause of death, and investigators have found no indication of foul play.
Landry was 21 at the time of his disappearance. Authorities said that on Dec. 13, 2020, the Texas State student was driving from San Marcos, Texas to his family's home in Missouri City. According to officials, Landry crashed in Caldwell County just after midnight.
While Landry's crashed vehicle was found, he was not. Authorities said his personal belongings, including clothing, were found scattered near the crash. Landry's disappearance set off a yearslong search for him until recently.
