Newark, Philadelphia flights impacted by FAA equipment outage

NEWARK, N.J. -- The FAA has stopped departures at Newark and Philadelphia airports due to equipment outage, according to an advisory by the agency.

Air traffic controllers are advising pilots of radio issues at the TRACON -- the ATC facility which handles planes arrivals and departures for that airspace.

Flightradar24 data shows multiple planes at both airports lined up and waiting to depart.
