TOKYO -- Otherworldly. Breathtaking. Awesome.
That's how visitors describe their experience at team Lab Borderless in the Azabudai Hills section of Tokyo, Japan.
"teamLab is an art collective," explained Takashi Kudo, Communications Director at teamLab. "Each artwork has no boundaries. The artwork...always changes."
The space consists of multiple rooms with a different art installation, but all connecting and flowing together, hence the "borderless."
"Going through the rooms there (were) a lot of tactile sensations, it was a sensory feast," said Eliza Cavanagh, who was visiting from the United Kingdom.
"There's a whole sense of continuity and fluidity within each room so you kind of forget which room you're in at any given moment, that space that you're in," added Alan Cavanagh, also from the U.K.
One of the rooms was a location for a pivotal scene between Brendan Fraser and Shannon Gorman in "Rental Family," which is streaming on Hulu and Disney+ now.
"It's a perfect setting for an expression of the inner lives that those two characters are feeling in an atmosphere around them that's blooming and beautiful and changing and unique," said Fraser.
The installation also got a visit from Khloe and Kim Kardashian and their families during a Spring Break trip to Japan.
"If you aren't someone who usually appreciates art, I would say come here because it's a different form of art," said Elizabeth Kern, who was visiting from Portland, Oregon.
"I came here more than 100 times, but each time... it's a different experience. And I strongly recommend or like I want to say if you like it, come back again and again," said Kudo.
