Funeral held for former SFPD Deputy Chief Ann Mannix, daughter Katie at St. Ignatius Church
SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Funeral services were held on Friday for a former San Francisco police official and her daughter, who were tragically killed earlier this month.
Hundreds of police officers saluted outside Saint Ignatius Church as the caskets of former SFPD Deputy Chief Ann Mannix and her daughter Katie arrived.
They were killed earlier this month at their Marin Co. home by retired police Sergeant Kevin Mannix -- the husband of Ann and father of Katie -- who then took his own life.
Ann's brother, retired SFPD Commander Richard Corriea, paid tribute to his sister as an advocate for women in law enforcement.
"Ann and Katie's work here is done, but I know they will be partners forever and will be on duty in heaven as our guardian angels," Corriea said.
Ann leaves behind a lasting legacy within SFPD.

She was the first woman to join and lead the department's SWAT team and later rose through the ranks to become deputy chief before retiring in 2021.
