SJPD arrest man who allegedly confessed to 2 separate murders; bodies found near Guadalupe River
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- San Jose police on Saturday arrested a man who flagged down a patrol officer and allegedly confessed to two homicides.
At about 5:15 p.m., a 28-year-old man flagged down the officer and allegedly said he killed somebody in the area around Lelong Street and West Alma Avenue, police said in a news release Tuesday.
Officers found a dead man in the area and arrested the suspect, who then allegedly admitted that he killed another person near Autumn Parkway and Coleman Avenue.
Officers went to the area and found the victim and booked the suspect into Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of two counts of murder, police said.
Both bodies were found in different areas but near the Guadalupe River.
Investigators are still trying to determine why the suspect allegedly committed the homicides and what were the circumstances surrounding the killings.
The deaths were San Jose's 20th and 21st homicides of 2026.
