Cyclosporiasis cases linked to lettuce at some Taco Bell locations

Recent cases of the intestinal illness cyclosporiasis have been linked to shreddediceberglettuceserved atsome Taco Bell locations inIndiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and West Virginia, according to a source familiar with an investigation by the Food and Drug Administration.

The FDA investigation has identified a single supplier of iceberg lettuce from Mexico used by the Taco Bell locations where sick people ate.

ABC News reached out to Taco Bell Thursday but did not immediately hear back.

On Tuesday, therestaurantprovided a statement that said in part, "The health and safety of our guests is our top priority ... We will continue to closely monitor the situation and follow the guidance of public health authorities."
