
SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Video shows the moment a tornado formed and touched down in a rural part of Tehama County in Northern California on Sunday, April 12, 2026. The National Weather Service in Sacramento confirmed an EF-U tornado occurred at 2:05 p.m. near Vina, California, and lasted for about a minute. An EF-U tornado is when its strength is unknown. Tornadoes are ranked from EF0 as weak to EF5 as violent, depending on wind gusts and damage. No damage or injuries were reported.
